Bam! (boo)

I got myself a new drawing tool.  It’s the Bamboo “Capture” tablet.  It allows me to draw using a stylus on a touch-sensitive pad that’s almost the size of a full-sized sheet of paper.

Here’s my first doodle:

Not sure why he’s so grumpy.

The image was inspired by a photo collage in an arts magazine.  In the original, the head was Queen Elizabeth’s.  Something about the boxiness of the body really appealed to me.

So there it is.  There should be plenty more to come…

  1. Wonderful combination of colors. I like it!!

  2. I love the gradient across his face. And the orange: so much orange!

    • The drawing itself came together in about 85 seconds. The signature took a little longer, cuz I’m still getting used to the stylus. Then I spent about an hour fussing around with the background. Oh, the dangers of Photoshop, or, as I like to call it, “falling down the P-hole.”

Anyway, what do you think about the orange? What does it ‘do’ to the picture?
